Sustainability

Promoting Governance

To maintain our reputation as a trusted company, we will promptly make management decisions and enhance the soundness, transparency, and fairness of our management while ensuring that all employees conduct business activities with a strong sense of ethics.

Promotion of Risk Management

Internal control
(internal control committee, code of ethical conduct)

Guided by our Group’s management philosophy, “We link you and food with our smiles. We are the corporate group always being trusted.”, our mission is to contribute to society and maintain trust through our business activities. “The KRS Spirit” represents what we value in practicing the Group’s philosophy and what we should uphold as responsible corporate citizens.

>> The K.R.S. Spirit

We believe that the understanding of and sincere adherence to the K.R.S. Spirit by all executives and employees will lead to the further growth of the Group and the happiness of all stakeholders.

To ensure corporate operations align with the above philosophy and to manage risk management and compliance centrally, we have established an internal control committee, with the participation of the representative director, to clarify the management structure.
The committee designates departments responsible for each risk category, and the internal audit department audits their risk management status. The results are reported regularly to the internal control committee, which comprehensively and systematically reviews and manages the overall risks of the Group.

Corporate governance

We believe that swift decision-making in management and enhancing the soundness, transparency, and fairness of management in response to changes in the business environment affecting our Group are key challenges for the continuous improvement of corporate value. To address these, we are committed to strengthening corporate governance.

Disaster mitigation efforts in anticipation of natural disasters

In recent years, with the frequent occurrence of natural disasters across the country, such as large-scale earthquakes, heavy rain, and heavy snow, we conduct annual evacuation drills at each office to ensure the safety of employees and facilitate the prompt resumption of business operations during such disasters.
Furthermore, we conduct large-scale disaster drills nationwide, with participation from the management team, simulating the occurrence of a major earthquake with a Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) seismic intensity of 6 or higher.
We conduct training using disaster-specific systems and services to confirm employee safety, gather damage status information from affected sales offices in disaster-prone areas, and collect public information, such as government, transportation, and lifeline data, to ensure effective internal coordination.

We have implemented a weather information service for our daily operations. In areas where heavy rain or snow is forecast and significant traffic disruptions are expected, making safe operation uncertain, we quickly coordinate within the Group and suspend deliveries (seeking the understanding of our customers) to ensure the safety of our employees.

We will continue to uphold our safety policy that “safety takes precedence over everything”, strive to build sustainable logistics and steadfastly fulfill our social mission of supporting the food infrastructure.

Ensuring Thorough Compliance

The K.R.S. spirit, compliance program

Recognizing the importance of the K.R.S. Spirit, which stipulates compliance with laws and regulations, we have established a compliance manual and implemented compliance programs to ensure that all employees conduct business activities with the highest ethical standards.
